My last project in my Painter class. We were given different types of topics, and I decided to do the one where you were supposed to illustrate your favorite song and depict its mood and whatnot. So considering that I'm currently hooked on pop'n music, I decided to use the song "Kinjirareta Chigiri (Forbidden Vow)" from that game. I'll leave it up to the viewer to decide what I wanted to get across in this piece.
Ah and by the way, keep reading to see the translated version of the song. Had to translate it to show my teacher. ><;
Sketched in my sketchbook, painted in Correl Painter IX in about 20 hours? Maybe more?

“Forbidden Vow”
Sung by: Freddy Hatae
“I understand. Please come this way. I shall grant your wish.”
Your trembling white hands
Leaves an unsure signature
You lie down and wait for the moment
Neither sadness nor joy
Exists on top of these chilling sheets
Only a body being transformed
Your clear blue eyes without any impurities
Can everything that you see be forgiven?
The crimson fades from your cheeks, just like icy steel
Those fleeting screams enduring this pain melts into the darkness
What you will exchange for eternal life no one knows,
Only a forbidden vow engraved into your chest
“How is it? Isn’t it wonderful? I’m sure you will be pleased.”
Your signature now a black rose
Engraved into your chest
You try and awkwardly smile
Beyond the old mirror
Your fragile and beautiful skin shines
Faint and sweet, the scent of your black hair
Only that remains of your childhood memories
There is no time for regret, as if you are enslaved
It is forbidden to discard your vow
What you exchanged for eternal life no one knows,
Only a forbidden vow engraved into your chest
The crimson fades from your cheeks, just like icy steel
Those fleeting screams enduring this pain melts into the darkness
What you will exchange for eternal life no one knows,
Only a forbidden vow engraved into your chest.
Incredibly cool. Awesome job on the coloring, and the idea is phenomenal Great work evoking emotion without being heavy-handed and angsty, too. Great stuff.
Kinjirareta Chigiri! Darkness2~!
Ahem.
I love how the moon is so huge and white, I'm so used to seeing moons of multi color that it's so refreshing to see a white one. And the gradient sky with the smattering of stars is so chill~ The layers of the buildings and the shapes that are castle-ish but techno are extremely cool~ And the strings~ the strings~! I'm so happy you managed to do the water/mirror thing and pull it off so well~!
Is he crying for the person he killed?*I'm geussing on that one by the way* For some very strang reason i'm getting the impression that he killed a part of himself, but that's only cuz i'm f***ed in the head. Awsome job on the pic by the way.
