"But I do know this much. If there's trouble, all us freaks have...is each other."
-Abe, from Hellboy
Fullscreen if you want to see details and whatnot, as usual.
...This is what results when you've been staring at the computer doing research on the food pyramid for an entire day. My brain is so fried that it decided to finish one of the old pictures I had in my random sketchbook (AKA notebook with notebook paper in it). Took me a total of 6 hours to ink in Painter and tone in Photoshop. Probably would have gone faster if I hadn't been watching movies while I was working on it... At least I'm satisfied that I got a picture done. Not entirely as I wanted it to be, since J's arm is still bugging the hell out to me...meh. Still happy.
Just something random to add on...
Kyr's weapon of choice: Knives
J's weapon of choise: Katana
Z's weapon of choice: Whip
A's weapon of choice: Kitchen knife
Awesome job with the poses and shading as usual. I think this is the only pic where you've had Kyr and all his bodyguards at once (well, besides the preview thing for BTM). The only thing that bugs me a little though is Kyr's right foot and Z's left foot, they seem a bit flat to me. And also, how exactly do you do those manga/comic book tones in Photoshop? o_O That'd sure be useful to know.
Thanx!! Yeah... Their feet were one of the other things that were bothering me throughout the entire drawing process. I had a friend pose for me to be able to get the angle on Z's foot (he's wearing sandles) but when I simplified it down to my style of drawing, it kinda lost it's actual look. ><;;
Anyhow, you make these tones by first putting the image in grayscale, then select the area that you want to tone and color it the shade of gray that you think will look right in tones. Then go under Filter => Pixelate => Color Halftone. Play around with the radius settings since they change the size of the dots, then hit OK. If you don't like how that tone looks, go back and change the shade of gray, and keep doing the haltone. It takes a bit to get it right.
Hope that helps. ^^
