Fourth (?) assignment for my cartooning and caricature class that I'm in right now. We were supposed to expand on the expression sheet that we did for our last project, and were supposed to do a 4 panel cartoon with a different emotion in each panel. Also had to have one other character in there that was interacting with the main character in some way. Soooo... Decided to do Happy, Shocked, Sad (more like bawling), Angry in that order. I don't think I need to describe what's actually going on in the picture. ><;
Ah, and don't remind me that Kyr and Xek don't look like they usually do. I needed to chibi-fy them a bit in order to get both of them to fit in the panel correctly. Also changed both of their clothes in one way shape or form for similar reasons.
Sketching 3 days, penciling 2 hours, inking 6 hours (yeah, I'm still pretty slow at inking with a pen nib).
wow, the third panel simply rules. the drama of a dropped ice cream.

...but I'm sure Sephiroth sometimes walks around saying "Where's my other wing? I mean, I know I'm a god but even gods sometimes have to obey the laws of gravity. I can't fly with only one wing."
Very awesome! Super Ice Cream Drama Destruction! And your nib pen inking is godly. >< I always break those damn things. Great job with the emotion in each panel too. Gotta love the over-the-top wailing in horror in the third panel.
A couple of continuity and drawing nitpicks:
-Between your first and second panel I'm a little fuzzy on where the second person comes from. In the second panel it looks like he's coming from behind, yet he's nowhere to be seen in the first panel, be it behind, far away, or in the far distance. It just kind of looks like the second guy comes out of nowhere.
-In the last panel I'm pretty sure that if his arm is extended down and fairly straight, his fist wouldn't be seen straight on from the front - it would be three-quarter down view like the rest of his arm.
-And in the first panel the character's back leg is *really* straight for that point in his walking. It looks okay and gets the point across, but if you were to animate that character (which I realize you're not) as he is, his back leg would likely be bent at least a little during that point in his walking.
Again, nitpicks. Don't take it that I think I'm some sort of genius or something or that I'm picking on you because that's not the case at all. I really love it and storytelling is great!

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
